Relevant Sales Info Can Be Hard To Snatch

Figuring out what's going on in the world of digital services can be tough to master. But we're going for it. Last week we asked for info on how 2024 is trending and what is selling. Over 100 shops reported in on their sales so far this year. Are things looking up? What are clients buying? Enlightenment awaits those who read on.

2024 Digital Services Sales Trends

Without further adieu, let's dig into what we've found out from the 101 shops that took a minute to share how things are going. 

How are your sales trending?

  • Up, Up, Up: 29.70%

  • Holding Steady: 40.60%

  • Losing Ground: 29.70%

Over 70% of all shops reported that they are currently stable or growing. This feels like pretty great news given the shit show that 2023 was for a lot of agencies. And while this doesn't mean that the coffers are full, it does feel like the bleeding has stopped. So what's selling?

What service offerings are clients buying?

  • Development: 24.85%

  • Marketing: 20.00%

  • Creative & Design: 15.15%

  • Strategy: 9.09%

  • Maintenance: 7.27%

  • SEO: 6.06%

  • Consulting: 4.85%

  • Branding: 3.64%

  • Paid Media/Advertising: 3.64%

  • CMS: 2.42%

Development, marketing and creative/design were the top selling services. AI was mentioned in just about every category, but not as a stand alone service being offered. That said, I think there was an underlying theme of including AI in pitches and proposals based both on the responses and a lot of conversations I've been having lately. "Strategy" is hard to define, but there was definitely some AI Strategy in the mix.
