Our Code of Conduct

The Official Stance on Nonsense

You are joining our community for a purpose: to learn new things and exchange ideas of your own, to meet new people and form lasting relationships, and to be a part of an exciting, new community. We recognize that the Bureau Online Community and our events are fun and social, but the focus is, and always will be, on the professional nature of the content. We want to be sure that you make the most of your time and investment. Thus, we’ve come up with this Code of Conduct to be a guiding commandment for our members, attendees, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and staff.

The Bureau of Digital is dedicated to providing an open, friendly, and comfortable experience for everyone, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. Any form of harassment is not, and never will be, tolerated. The bottom line is this:  we expect you to behave like a professional in person and in any online conversations interactions. Be a part of conversations, offer your perspective, and respect the other people participating. Anyone violating these rules may be sanctioned or expelled without a refund at the discretion of the Bureau of Digital.

In Case You Need To Be Told About HarassmenT

Harassment includes offensive verbal comments related to gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, religion, sexual images in public spaces, deliberate intimidation, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording, sustained disruption of talks or other events, inappropriate physical contact, and unwelcome sexual attention.
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately.

If anyone engages in harassing behavior, the Bureau of Digital may take any action they deem appropriate, which may include removal from the community or event with no refund.

We expect members and participants to follow these rules at both online and in-person at Bureau events.
