Antiracism

It’s official -- as of last month there’s a new federal holiday. But the importance of Juneteenth far transcends the potential for an extra day off to sleep in. For a refresher, we highly recommend this overview of the holiday, and you may also want to check out this piece for perspective on the hurdles faced by Black professionals in the design field. It’s more important than ever that we not only avoid racism in our workplace and personal conduct, but that we actively embrace anti-racist behaviors.

Leadership

It’s the dreaded T-word: turnover. Undoubtedly, leadership and recruiting professionals are feeling whiplash from the last year. And now, as the professional world grapples with what the workplace of the future looks like, leadership expert Susie Hall gives us great advice on strengthening the talent cycle to attract and keep the best talent.

B-Corp & Betterment

It may seem contradictory to operate a competitive business and also maintain a “we’re all in this together” attitude, but that doesn’t stop B-Corps from delivering the goods while striving for ethical and sustainable operations. If you’re looking for a little good news this month, or even getting an early start on your holiday shopping, we’re really excited about this list of great B-Corp businesses, courtesy of Business Insider.

Remote Work

Perhaps the biggest question on employees’ minds in a pandemic-weary world is whether we really all have to go back to the office as the country slowly emerges from lockdowns. The team at Andreessen Horowitz tackled this thorny issue with perspective from the top by surveying an array of business leaders. The results give us fascinating insight into the future -- or in many cases, the present -- of remote work. Find out more about remote work below:

Tools & Resources

Finally, one of the most useful things in our newsletters is a roundup of tools and resources. In June, members chatted about the LinkedIn updates like newsletters and polls, and shared their thoughts on Envoy’s workplace health and safety solution. Take a look and see if any of the below tools tickle your productivity bone.

Remember, all these insights and more can be yours each week if you’d like to sign up for the weekly Bureau of Digital newsletter. We’ll see you in your inbox!
