As well as being a rugby coach himself, Garci trains other coaches, which has led him to draw many parallels between the worlds of sports and business.
The Art of Building a Team
October 13th | 3:00 PM
If you work in an agency, you've probably heard the idea of being more Agile, or even working in dedicated teams. It's a great idea, and it's no easy feat to manage. In fact, this scenario may sound familiar:
A voice says, “Let's implement self-organized teams...now"
In response, a trembling DPM may ask, “But why? How? Can we trust this to work?”
And your answer may be, “Because the book says so.”
The Agile Manifesto says, “The best architectures, requirements, and designs emerge from self-organizing teams.” But what does that mean, and where can you buy a self-organized team? There is a lot to consider when in the agency setting.
In this breakout presentation, Garci will present the journey of building a multidisciplinary team and using Agile methodologies in an agency setting.
In this session, you will learn:
- How and why you can build and manage a self-organizing team
- Coaching techniques to use while managing multidisciplinary Agile teams
- How to conquer a number of challenges you are bound to face in the process
